Jonah: You Can’t Hide From God
Scripture: Jonah 1:1-16 (NRSV)
This prophet made it in Moby Dick, Pinocchio, and was mentioned by Jesus: Jonah. Jonah and the whale are a part of our cultural folklore. Jonah, the Reluctant and Rebellious Prophet, is so famous because we all can relate with running from God. The good news is that you can run, but you can’t hide from the hound of heaven, or more accurately the great fish of heaven. Our loving God will track us down and bring us to where he wants us to be.
