2 John: Walking in Truth and Love
Scripture: 2 John 1:1-13 (NRSV)
The Jewish concept of walking describes our whole existence, the way we treat others, essentially the way we roll in our day to day lives. There’s no mention of Jesus ever running in the gospels, he always walks—a slow, yet steady walk is the “pace of grace.” Jesus didn’t run himself ragged. He took everything in stride—trusting, taking his time, moving forward in God’s plan. Jesus didn’t strive to make things happen—he just kept walking in faith and love. The Apostle John in his second epistle invites us to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, who is The Way, The Truth, and the Life.
