Galatians: Liberty, Unity, and Sanctity in Christ
Scripture: Galatians 3:23-29 (NRSV)
Give me liberty or give me death! Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Freedom is not only the human heart’s cry, it is God’s heart cry for his people–let my people go! Jesus came to set free the prisoner. Paul says in Galatians (the Christian Magna Carta), “it is for freedom that Christ set us free.” But with freedom comes responsibility. Wisdom is needed to live into our freedom faithfully. Let’s look to Paul and ultimately to Jesus on how to have not only freedom from, but freedom for service to Christ and others.
