Hosea: The Anguish and Unfailing Love of God
Scripture: Hosea 1:1-2:1 (REB)
Antony and Cleopatra. Napoleon and Josephine. Romeo and Juliet. Hosea and Gomer? Hosea and Gomer are truly the oddest couple in Scripture—one a prophet, the other a prostitute. Hosea became a living parable to understand and experience God’s broken heart over his faithless people. From God and Hosea we learn about God’s pain and God’s amazing love for the bride of Christ. And the good news of Hosea is that God’s faithfulness is stronger than our faithlessness. By God’s grace, we will be restored to our First Love.
