The Virtues of Christmas: Hope
Scripture: Romans 15:13 (NRSV)
Knock on wood. Keeping my fingers crossed. I give you my well wishes. The power of positive thinking. Hope, however, is a different animal. Hope is not Pollyanna-ish, rather hope faces reality, grieves loss, but refuses to give up. For the Christian, hope is something outside of us and ahead of us, yet we can experience it inside of us. Christ gives us hope, we just have to unwrap and enjoy the divine gift graciously presented to us.
