Women’s Bible Studies

This year we will be studying “Finding Resilience, Joy, and Our Identity in Jesus Christ” by Rev. Dr. Rhashell D. Hunter. In this Bible study, we will explore resilience. This is modeled for us by several biblical characters, gospel and epistle writers, as well as Jesus. So, what exactly is resilience?

Resilience is the ability to spring back into shape and to adapt well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or stress—such as from family, relationships, health, workplace, and financial stressors. People who survive and thrive well in change are resilient. The Bible study is also about joy. How do we find joy in a chaotic world? Christian joy may be different from how a lot of people define joy.

We have two monthly study groups available, please email kate@immanuelpc.org to get connected.

  • Lydia Circle, beginning August 18 at 6:30pm. Meets on the 3rd Monday of each month here in Witherspoon Hall.
  • Agape Circle, beginning on September 10 at 9:00am. Meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at a member’s home.

Wednesday Night Dinners

Let us cook for you and we will even do the dishes!  From October through May, on the first and third Wednesday of the month, we host Wednesday Night Dinners from 5:30 – 7:00pm.  Come have a delicious home cooked meal and enjoy fellowship with your church family and friends.  Meals are $7.00 per person and includes a salad, bread, main dish and dessert!

Our first dinner is coming up on Wednesday, October 1 – Held in Withespoon Hall.

Music Ministries

Love to sing?  Want to learn handbells? Joining a music ministry is more than just singing or ringing handbells; it’s an opportunity to deepen your faith, connect with a supportive community, and enrich the worship experience for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned vocalist or simply love to sing, your voice is a welcome addition. Through music, you’ll discover a unique way to serve God and lift spirits, including your own. Come share your gift and become part of a joyful and harmonious fellowship!  Connect with Clay Whittington at clay@immanuelpc.org.

Volunteer

Volunteering at church offers a chance to live out your faith and make a tangible difference in the lives of others. Whether you’re helping with children’s ministry, assisting with community outreach efforts, lending a hand with administrative tasks, or contributing to worship services, your time and talents are valued. Beyond the immediate impact, volunteering can deepen your relationship with God, provide a sense of purpose, and help you connect with a supportive and welcoming community.
