Nahum: The Lord is a Stronghold in a Time of Trouble
Scripture: Nahum 1:1-15 (NRSV)
Let’s be honest, Nahum is a Nahumdinger of a book. Although his name means comfort, it isn’t the most comforting book–on first blush. But when you look deeper Nahum has a crucial message to teach us about God. God is good, but God isn’t nice. God is love, but God isn’t safe. We need not only the fear of God, but the love of God put in us. Listen to Nahum–he’ll show us the power of love and God’s deliverance for his people.
