Jeremiah: The Weeping Prophet

Scripture: Jeremiah 20:7-13 (NRSV)

Jeremiah was more than a bullfrog—he was also prophet, the weeping prophet. God’s call for Jeremiah to be a prophet was one of the hardest times in Israel’s history. But through the jeering, discouragement, tears, and suffering, Jeremiah faithfully prayed, preached, wept, and lived out his calling. He started in judgment, but ended with hope and a future. No one shows us better “faith in the raw” than the prophet Jeremiah.
