Colossians: How to Avoid A Spiritual Wardrobe Malfunction
Scripture: Colossians 3:10-17 (NLT)
You’ve heard it said, “you are what you eat.” Paul changes that around a bit in our passage and says, “you are what you wear.” Paul’s a bit of a fashionisto here—giving us advice on what clothes to get rid of, ways to avoid spiritual wardrobe malfunctions, and what clothes to start wearing. In other words, you’ve got to spiritually disrobe from your old way of life, and get dressed up in the new clothes that are well-suited and fitting for those who are chosen by God and beloved by Christ. Immanuel, let’s get gussied up together in our church clothes gifted to us by Christ!
