2 Kings: Josiah Takes Israel Back to Square One
Scripture: 2 Kings 22:1-20, 23:1-37 (NRSV), selected verses
It was the best of times and the worst of times for the monarchy of Israel. Although the Southern Kingdom was facing a looming exile, King Josiah showed himself to be the pinnacle of all of Israel’s kings by his wholehearted commitment to personal and national renewal of worship of the God of Israel. Josiah gives us great guidance for recommitting our lives back to God today.
