Christmas… Sing the Joyful Song! by Dale Mathews and Michael Frazier
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14 at the 11:00 a.m. Traditional Worship Service.
On a quiet night over two thousand years ago, a world longing for hope was forever changed. The angels’ song of joy and peace broke through the stillness, announcing the birth of a Savior who would bring forgiveness, love, and life to all people. That heavenly song has echoed across the centuries, inviting every generation to sing along with the joyful song of Emmanuel, “God with us.”
This December, our choir will present Christmas… Sing the Joyful Song! It is a beautiful musical celebration of Christ’s birth, filled with favorite carols and fresh new songs. The program tells the story of Christmas in a way that is heartfelt and accessible, even if you do not usually sing in a choir yourself. You will hear familiar melodies woven together with words of scripture, reminding us of the wonder and joy that still surround the Christmas story today.
The cantata features beloved carols alongside powerful newer pieces such as Jesus Christ Was Born and the Gettys’ Sing We the Song of Emmanuel. It also includes a special Christmas worship medley that intertwines treasured classics into one uplifting moment of praise.
We invite you to join us as we share this joyful song together. Whether you come seeking tradition, inspiration, or simply the warmth of the season, this cantata offers a meaningful way to enter into the Christmas story. It is more than just music. It is a reminder of the hope, peace, and love that first rang out that holy night and that continues to change lives today.
